Artist Bio:

Sarah Billings Wheeler is a choreographer, dancer, and dance educator. She founded the Guerrilla Dance Collective in the summer of 2011 and produced their first performance in a crosswalk under the High Line. With training in ballet and modern dance, she had a decade-long career in Dancesport, competing and performing in International Latin and Theater Arts divisions. She holds a MA in Dance Education from NYU and a BA in Psychology from Barnard College. She looks forward to continuing her work on public space dance projects.

Guerrilla Dance Collective’s mission is to perform dance works outdoors in public spaces. Our work is for everyone and can be appreciated and enjoyed by all ages. We want the audience to be inspired by movement created by women of varying dance experiences, ages, and body types. This work is dedicated to the multiple roles that women fill in our world, as caregivers, lovers and leaders.
